Empties: September 2015
Here’s another month’s worth of products I’ve used up. Most of these are the same old things I always list in empties posts. I think I need to branch out and try some new stuff!

For once, all my favorites are makeup items! I had a hard time narrowing these down, actually. I’ve enjoyed a ton of products over the summer but these are the most recent ones I’ve been using regularly.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a Glossybox post. The last few boxes haven’t been all that exciting but this one is looking more intriguing. Three color cosmetic items! Let’s take a closer look at what’s in this month’s box.
This is the 4th iteration of the Urban Decay Naked Palette which focuses on shades used in smoky eyeshadow looks. The shades are mainly in the neutral family but they vary widely which allows for looks ranging from extremely subtle to highly dramatic.
Somehow today’s look turned out to be something you might wear during the holidays. All the eyeshadows are from the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette and just for fun I thought I’d throw on a pair of false lashes to amp things up a bit.
This is a little bit of a random look that uses an odd combination of products. I was trying out a few different items that I purchased recently and wasn’t really intending to do a look but I liked how it came out so I took some pics. You can totally use whatever you have in your own collection to recreate this. The colors are warm brown (crease), cranberry (outer lid), dark silver (inner lid), copper (lower lash line), and white gold (inner corner). As long as you can find these types of shades in your own collection, you’re good to go!
I don’t typically think of doing a matte look with Urban Decay unless its with one of their Naked Basics palettes, but you can actually use their new Naked Smoky palette for this type of look. I love that they included a good set of basic matte colors because it really makes the palette much more versatile. This look is darker than an everyday eye but it’s less dramatic by opting for a thinner eyeliner, leaving the lower lash line light, and using the black eyeshadow sparingly but strategically.
Finally, I am caught up with my empties! These are supposed to be monthly posts but with the chaos that my life is, they got really backed up. Looking back over this group of items, it seems that a lot of the ones I will not be repurchasing have to do with the fragrance. I’ve become more sensitive to fragrances myself over the years but more importantly, I’ve become more aware of others’ sensitivity to fragrance. The item that piqued my interest the most was Billy Jealousy Liquid Sand Exfoliating Facial Cleanser.
Repurchase Legend: Yes – Already repurchased, have a backup, or will repurchase in the future. Maybe – I liked it but I either don’t need it at the moment, it costs a lot, or I need more time to evaluate. No – Didn’t work for me, wasn’t happy with the results, didn’t like some aspect … Read more
