This review is for the Makeup Geek Matrix Mega Set ($220), which includes two magnetic palettes full of most of their single eyeshadows. I am also reviewing four additional single eyeshadows that were released as part of their recent rebrand but were not included in the palettes.
ColourPop Mint To Be is a palette with 9 shades of light and medium greens. There are five matte shades and four with a shimmer/metallic finish. It retails for $12 and contains a total of 9 grams / 0.36 oz of product.
ColourPop Bare Necessities is a palette with 30 neutral shades in varying finishes, hues, and depths. There are some peachy-orange shades, some purples, rosy shades, warm neutrals, and cool neutrals but all of the colors are on the more muted side. It retails for $34 and contains a total of 30 grams / 1.2 oz of product.
Physicians Formula The Healthy Eyeshadow Quads come in 5 variations and retail for about $8 each. All of the quads are very neutral and most contain a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes. The Canyon Classic quad is a set of all matte neutral shades.
Maybelline’s City Mini Eyeshadow Palettes contain six shades in a small compact, come in various color combinations, and retail for about $10. Matte About Town’s shades are all matte and are on the warmer neutral side. Even the pinker-toned shades designated for the crease are warm-toned once applied, though they look like they might be cool-toned just by looking at the pans.
