This line of eyeshadows is meant to enhance your eyes without looking overdone. Smoke Alarm contains three grey colored satin-finish shades – a light purplish silver, a grayish taupe, and a charcoal grey. It takes a little bit of work to get good color payoff but they are decently pigmented and blend easily. The darkest grey color is the softest and most crumbly of the bunch so it is a good idea to tap off any excess from your brush before applying the color to your eyes. The color combination looks flattering together and the wear time is really great for a drugstore eyeshadow. These lasted a full 8 hours without creasing. These are cooler colored shadows though so if you have a hard time pulling cooler colors off, you might want to try one of the other color combinations in this line – Shimmering Sands is a really nice one. The packaging has been redone slightly and now has a completely flat top so that you can stack multiple palettes together. The downside is that the previous design held a total of 4.8 grams of product while the new packaging holds 4 grams. These retail for about $5 and are widely available.
