I picked up the Too Faced Italian Spritz Palette when it came out and have been giving it a go for the past couple weeks. Here are swatches of all of the shades along with descriptions and some of my thoughts on how they perform.

The Too Faced Italian Spritz Palette combines colorful, summery shades and warm neutrals in their classic tin packaging. There are 18 shades in here with a good balance of mattes and shimmers. Roughly half of the shades are colorful while the other half are more neutral. It is available for $54 from Ulta and Too Faced.

The mattes are generally fairly consistent in quality except for a couple that needed some extra help from a primer in order to prevent fading and stay adhered to the lid for a reasonable amount of time. They don’t feel particularly dry and they are also not exceptionally silky. They just feel like decent standard matte eyeshadows with satisfying, smooth color payoff that sit smoothly on the lid.

The shimmers come a variety of formulas. Many of them have a thicker, waxy feel to the touch that swatch well with fingers but don’t pick up as easily on a brush. A few have a comparably drier but still silky feel to them. All of them have a mixture of fine shimmer and large sparkle and fallout from them was generally far less than I was expecting, which was a nice surprise.

Holy Cannoli

Holy Cannoli is a light matte peach. I have used this one as a lid shade and along the lower lashline and found that it has enough brightness and depth to show up easily against my skin tone. It had good, quick color payoff, adhered well to the skin and didn’t brush away too easily.

Ciao, Bellini!

Ciao, Bellini! is a mixture of fine peachy shimmer and large gold sparkles. This is one of the thicker-feeling shimmers. It swatches more heavily than it goes on to the lid and is much easier to apply with fingers than with brushes.

When In Rome…

When In Rome… is very vibrant hot pink. It didn’t stain my lids and I was able to use it in a sheered out way or build it up to near full opacity. It applied and blended out smoothly.

Take Me To Church

Take Me To Church is a lot like Ciao, Bellini! two swatches ago. Same type of formula and applies very similarly, just with a more of a pinky tint.

Feelin’ Saucy

Feelin’ Saucy is a deeper matte orange. This was one of the best quality mattes with excellent color payoff but was also super easy to blend out.

Lake Como

Lake Como is one of the silkier-feeling shimmers. It picks up more easily on a brush than the thicker shimmers do but still only gives me a sheer wash of color (similar to the way the lighter swatch looks). In order to get it to look more like the heavy swatch on the eye, I need to use a dampened brush or apply it over a sticky primer to help it pop more.

Toasted In Tuscany

Toasted In Tuscany is a light warm brown with neutral undertones. This is the most natural-looking shade on me to use as a transition and doesn’t lean too yellow/orange and not too pink. Adheres and builds up well, blends and sheers out well too.

Cin Cin!

Cin Cin! is a metallic medium bronze. It is one of the thicker shimmers like Ciao, Bellini! and Take Me To Church, but unlike those, it has more intense color payoff so I am able to apply it with a brush and still have it show up well.

Spritz & Glitz

Spritz & Glitz has a base of sheer fine lavender shimmer and along with plenty of larger blue sparkle. It is the same type of formula as Lake Como, with a silkier feel to it that picks up more easily on a brush. Applying this with a dry brush, I get something that resembles the lighter swatch, and using it with a damp brush or sticky primer gives me more bold color payoff, like the heavier swatch.

Spaghett About It

Spaghett About It is a light pinky/peachy brown that I can use in a similar way as Toasted In Tuscany. This one looks less natural and more rosy on me but performs just as well as that one.

Grappa Don’t Preach

Grappa Don’t Preach was one of the most difficult to use shimmers. It is one of the thicker feeling shimmers and using a dry brush required MANY layers to get it look anywhere near the heavier swatch. Using a damp brush really helped to get this one to build up more quickly.

Espresso Yourself

Espresso Yourself was one of my least favorite mattes. It has good color payoff and looks decent when first applied but quickly fades in the crease if not used over an eyeshadow primer. This is the type of matte that grabs onto the skin and isn’t the easiest to move and blend around the edges once it is placed. I got better results using a flat shader to apply it and blend upward as there was gradually less color on the brush. It was not easy to apply initially with a fluffy brush.

Lake & Bake

Lake & Bake is a warmer ocean blue with somewhat of a sheer blue base and a whole lot of blue shimmer and sparkle. This is similar in texture to the shade Cin Cin!, where it feels thicker to the touch but has enough pigmentation to be able to apply it with a dry brush.

Capri Fun

Capri Fun is a very warm, almost orange-leaning yellow. It is another one of the better mattes in the palette. Excellent color payoff that can easily go from sheer to nearly opaque with smooth blending.

Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia! is another one of my least favorite shades. It is similar in quality and performance to Espresso Yourself. It applies fine initially with good color payoff but requires a good primer to stay in place. This one is a bit more easily dusted away if I blend over it too much.

Como After Dark

Como After Dark is a deep grey shimmer with lots of silver sparkle. Shades like this usually scare and disappoint me but I think this one is really well done. The formula of this is not like the thicker, waxy shades, and is closer to the two silkier feeling shimmers but I am able to use a dry brush to pick up and apply this without any issues. Good color payoff with a surprisingly small amount of fallout for how sparkly it is. Impressed with this one.

Impasta-ble

Impasta-ble is the last medium-depth transition shade with a very obvious honey-yellow tone. It was just as easy to use as the other midtone neutrals in the palette.

Gelat-ohh!

Gelat-ohh! is a reliable matte highlight with neutral undertones. This one is light enough on me to actually be a highlight. I often use shades like this to add coverage to the inner corner and brow bone and I find color payoff is very good for that purpose. It sits smoothly on the skin without look heavy or dry.

Here are swatches and photos of all six of the Too Faced Cloud Crush Blurring Blushes. These are fairly straightforward, no-nonsense powder blushes with the main claim of having a diffusing/blurring quality to them. These are $29 each and available from several retailers including Sephora, Ulta, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom, and of course, Too Faced.

Blurring has been a trendy term in the past couple months and I can see how that might be useful in a product that can sometimes end up on an area of the face with larger and more visible pores and texture. I wouldn’t say these actually blur or reduce the look of texture/pores more than any other matte or satin finish blush would but they certainly do not emphasize texture either. In my experience, blushes with a very shimmery or frosty finish tend to emphasize texture more and none of these fit that finish. The one with the most shimmer in it is the shade Golden Hour but even that only reflects light very subtly, so no issue with emphasizing texture there.

These were the first blush release in a while that sparked my interest and I have to say it was partly and shallowly for the experience besides the product inside that seemed to add something to these. They are scented which is always a draw for some reason and Too Faced usually does a nice job with scented products. Too Faced describes the scent as smelling like a tropical beach. To me they have a warm, rounded, sweet, nutty kind of scent that isn’t something that resembles previous scented product I’ve tried from them. The packaging has a nice look and feel with the rounded enamel-looking outside and the raised golden logo. One major downside to the packaging is that they can be kind of hard to open. Trying to pry the lid open, I find the pointy bottom of the heart kind of stabs my fingers and I have to use more force than expected to get it to open up. A couple times, they have slipped and fallen out of my hands LOL.

As for how they apply, these work perfectly well as blushes. They are all easy to use with some modifications depending on the shade I decide to wear. I can go a little more heavy handed with the lighter shades but they have plenty of color payoff. With the darker shades, I prefer to use a more sparing amount to keep it still looking somewhat natural but they blend out easily. I haven’t noticed them fade throughout the day and I felt they all went on evenly.

For the swatches below, the left side is a heavy finger swatch and the right side is a brush swatch. In swatching these, the powder felt like a drier formula which was more noticeable when using a brush on the right side. The color went on evenly but quite sheer and didn’t seem to grip onto the skin as easily. With that said, I didn’t feel I had any problems with these adhering when used on the face.

Candy Clouds

Candy Clouds is a matte pale pink with cool undertones. It has buildable color payoff and shows up well. Similar to Dior Rosy Glow Blush.

Golden Hour

Golden Hour is a light pink with a small amount of shimmer. It is warmer than Candy Clouds, but I find this still looks very pink and cool toned on me in real life. The name and photos make it appear warmer than it actually is. Out of them all, this is the one with the most shimmer.

Velvet Crush

Velvet Crush is a matte brownish pink. It looks similar to Head In The Clouds, but this one is noticeably more neutral on me. This is the one I’ve been reaching for most often because it just looks natural on me.

Head In The Clouds

Head In The Clouds is a medium mauvey pink. This one looks a bit lighter in the pan than it swatches for some reason. Another good “everyday” kind of option if you prefer more pink-toned blushes.

Tequila Sunset

Tequila Sunset is a light somewhat muted orange with a matte finish. This one is more pigmented/darker and I need to use a lighter hand when applying it than the previous shades. It is easy to blend out though.

Watermelon Rain

Watermelon Rain is a raspberry pink with a nearly matte finish. It has the tiniest bit of a satin finish but for the most part it just ends up looking matte on me. This has somewhat of a purplish tone to it when applied sheered out. Quite pigmented and requires using a light hand on my skin tone. Easy to blend out.

Product Details

The Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Palette is a fall-themed palette with a variety of mostly warm and a few cool toned shades. Out of the 18 shades, 12 of them are matte and the rest are shimmers. There is a total 12.6 grams / 0.43 oz and it retails for $49.

The palette is made of metal and has a magnetic closure just like many of Too Faced’s previous palettes in the same format. The eyeshadows have a moderately strong, very sweet, pumpkin pie-ish scent with maybe a hint of spice.

Formula Overview

The matte shades are highly pigmented and adhere very well to the lid. They take a bit of patience to blend fully but they do blend out nicely. This type of formulation is nice for those that enjoy wearing looks that have a lot of color variation without the colors muddying together. They weren’t too soft/powdery in the pan nor were they too firmly pressed. For the most part the mattes seemed pretty consistent in quality from shade to shade, though I did find You Spicy  required a bit more time and effort to apply evenly. Very little fallout from the mattes.

There are a few different types of shimmers in here. Falling For You is a standard shimmer with a softer, more satiny finish. Crisp is similar but also has very fine micro glitter shot through the formula. The micro glitter does fall out a bit under the eyes during application.

Fall Vibes is the most highly reflective but it is also a flakier type of shimmer. It had a significant amount of fallout that I was able to brush away because my base was pretty heavily powdered. It adheres incredibly well to the lid, to the point where it can be tricky to blend out. This was best applied by building it up slowly rather than going in heavy right away. Oh My Gourd is similar to Fall Vibes but a had a slightly “creamier” feel to it.

Wanna Piece Of Me? is an interesting shade. It yielded a sparkling finish in the photos but, in person, this seems to also give a satin finish if applied heavily and smoothed over. It had a lot of fallout.

PSL & Chill has blue and fuchsia micro glitter and gives a sparkling finish both in photos and in real life. This also had a lot of fallout.

Shade Selection

One of the reasons I decided to go ahead and pick this palette up was the versatile color selection. I can see this working for more than just fall with the colors included. There is enough range from light to dark and a variety of hues to work with. I also personally love the matte to shimmer ratio.

Wear Time

Wear time was consistent all 5 times I wore this. I wore looks 1-5 for about 8 hours and had moderate creasing by the end of each day. This is pretty average for me.

This shimmer on the lid is a single from Devinah Cosmetics Galaxy Dust Shifters Collection. The shades in that collection seem to compliment this palette pretty well, so that is what I did here. It looks like an intense yellow gold here but this shade also has a green shift that was more noticeable in real life.

I also used PSL & Chill in Look #5. You can probably see that the shade looks different in each photo. This photo is a bit out of focus and edited to help bring out the blue and fuchsia sparkles that I can see in this shade in real life.

Too Faced Born This Way Matte Foundation is supposed to be an oil-free, waterproof foundation with a matte finish and undetectable coverage that comes in 35 shades and retails for $40. It is boldly implied to stay matte and control oil for 24 hours.

The product comes housed in a glass bottle with a pump, much like their original Born This Way Foundation, but with a taller and slimmer bottle.

I chose the shade Snow because that is the shade I use in the Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer. The concealer does not match me perfectly but it’s close enough. I also use the shade Almond from time to time but it has a fairly obvious yellow undertone on me that I knew would not work for a foundation shade.

They got the shade match about as close as I think you can. I appreciate them not making the foundation darker than the concealer, which a lot of makeup brands will do, assuming most people use a lighter concealer than their foundation. I don’t do that because it emphasizes the sunken-in-ness of my under eye circles.

It’s really unfortunate that the shade doesn’t match me better because that does affect the review, making it harder for me to review the product impartially. A shade that is too light exaggerates areas of dryness on the skin and looks more obvious if the product settles into pores. It also does absolutely nothing to neutralize any redness in the skin.

This applied best with a damp sponge. Using a brush caused the product to sit on the skin in a way that looked unnatural and emphasized my pores. I found that the product set completely a few minutes after application and could no longer be blended. One of the times I wore this, I realized that I hadn’t fully blended an area in, but because it was already fully set, I couldn’t fix it without removing the makeup and starting over again.

Even though this sets down all the way, it doesn’t have a dried-down feel to it. It still has a sort of light tackiness to it. Because of that you may still want to powder over top depending what you want to wear on top of it.

I would describe the finish as natural matte. It’s definitely not a dry, flat matte. The coverage level I got was probably light-medium, but it’s hard to tell when the shade is too light. Freckles, dark spots, redness, acne scarring all 100% show through because of the shade. It did not help smooth the texture of skin. On my cheeks, it doesn’t emphasize the texture if I apply it with a sponge but it does seem to accentuate the pores on my forehead. It was also not forgiving on any areas with dry, flakey skin.

As for wear time, the few times I did wear it all day, it didn’t stay matte for very long. It got just as shiny as a hydrating foundation would. Keep in mind my skin is currently fairly oily as we are still in summertime. There is almost nothing that will control oil all day long for me.

I’m going to leave this review as is for now – more of a first impression review – since I haven’t worn this product too extensively. So far, I’m not super impressed but I also don’t hate it. I’ll probably end up trying it with different combinations of base products and if my opinion changes down the road, I’ll update the post later.

Product Details and Packaging

Too Faced Born This Way The Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette is a 16-pan neutral eyeshadow palette that was inspired by their foundation range of the same name. The mattes are supposed to “enhance your unique and beautiful undertones” while the rest of the shades are said to have a variety of finishes including “metallic, shimmer, and sparkle.” There is a total of 12 grams / 0.48 oz of product. The smaller pans are 0.5 gram/0.02oz and the larger pans are 1.0 gram/0.04oz. It retails for $45 and can be purchased from Too Faced, Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s, and Nordstrom.

The packaging is made of heavy-duty cardboard with a magnetic closure and is weightier than it looks. It is covered in a slick, shiny paper coating that is easy to wipe off should it get dirty. The palette is very slim and the size and shape are similar to other palettes I have from Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay’s Naked Palettes, the Lorac Pro Palettes, etc. The mirror inside is large enough to see both eyes at the same time and has no distortion.

They designed it so that the matte shades are twice as big as the shimmer shades which makes sense for the way most people wear eyeshadow. In a “typical” neutral eye look, I will apply more matte eyeshadow to a larger area of my lids than shimmer eyeshadow. They have also coordinated shades that could go together in columns, but of course you can mix and match as you please.

Shade Range

The swatches below give you a general overview of the range of shades and the finishes in this palette. The shades are pretty much warm toned overall which is fine if that is what you want. However, if you are somebody that wears mostly cool tones, like taupes, greys, and dusty mauves, then this might not be the palette for you. In the pans, some of the shades look deceptively cool toned but actually come off as warm once swatched. This is especially true for the shades Petal and Warm Rose.

There is minimal overlap in shades. I feel that there is a purpose for each matte shade and there are none that are too significantly similar to each other. There are only 2 shimmers that I’d say are too similar and those are Rose Gold and Sparkling Sand but they do have slightly different finishes and undertones.

Formula

The matte formula is very smooth, finely milled, and highly pigmented. The lighter mattes from Swan to Warm Rose all apply beautifully with good color payoff and easy blending. From Maple on to Truffle it gets harder to apply the shadow evenly and blend it out nicely but it is possible. I found having smaller brushes was a saving grace. Standard size fluffy brushes didn’t work as well with these deeper shades.

All the shimmers are a thicker, almost waxy-feeling formula. That waxiness can help the shimmer stick to the lid but it can also make it trickier to actually get it on the lid in the first place. It can also sometimes make the shimmers apply in a way that looks thick and textured on the lids if you apply them too heavily. I would describe the shimmer formula as being more like iridescent topper shades rather than your standard shimmer. They have a really pretty multicolored sparkle that can be seen in certain lighting conditions. They don’t apply opaque right away. You have to spend some time building them up if you apply them with brushes. Using your finger will apply the color much more quickly but less precisely.

Wear Time

On days when I remembered to write down how long I wore the shadows, the wear time was all over the place. One day I began to notice slight creasing at 6 hours. Another day I had barely any creasing at 9 hours. On yet a third day I wore a look for 11 hours with no creasing. It’s hard for me to come to a conclusion about this LOL. It could just be my skin was oilier on some days than others. If I look at the lowest wear time, 6 hours, that is not too bad for me. There are plenty of eyeshadows that last even less time than that. The 11 hour wear time was on a day when I applied a shimmer shade quite thick all over my lid, including in my crease. I believe the thickness/waxiness of the shimmer contributed to the look wearing longer that day.

Individual Shades

• Swan is a pale neutral cream that works well to brighten the inner corner and brow bone on my skin tone (Mac NW20, for reference). I also use it to set my eyeshadow base before going in with other shades to help the look wear longer throughout the day.
• Seashell is pale peach that works well as a transition shade for Maple.
• Nude is a yellow toned light brown that gives my crease a very natural looking contour.
• Petal looks like a light cool-toned pink in the pan but it’s actually closer to a pale pinky-coral once applied to the eye. It seems to darken a bit on the skin.

• Warm Rose is pretty much as easy to blend as the lighter mattes and looks warmer and rosier on the eye than it does in the pan.
• Maple is where the blending starts to require more effort but this shade wasn’t too much trouble.
• Cocoa was significantly harder to blend out, even if I used lighter transition shades beforehand. As I blended, it kind of looked uneven so I kept having to add more and by the end of it, the shade was applied to a larger portion of my eye than I had originally intended. I can make it work but I’d think twice about using this if I was in a rush.
• Truffle was the most difficult to blend. By some miracle it actually looked pretty good in the look I did below but I used this shade many times before I got it to apply nicely.

• Glistening Snow is the most unique shade in the palette. It’s kind of a duo-chrome-y shade but the shift is very subtle. It is an ultra pale gold in direct light but has a silvery base color that shows up more when the light hits at an extreme angle. The texture of this is chunky and the effect is more sparkly/glittery than smooth and metallic.
• Shimmering Pearl is similar in texture and finish to Glistening Snow.
• Sparkling Sand is less chunky in texture and gives off a more subdued shine than the previous two shades. It has smaller particles that are more uniform in size. The finish of this one is closer to what I consider a standard shimmer finish.
• Rose Gold is similar in color to Sparkling Sand but has a rosier tone and a more intense reflect than Sparkling Sand. The texture of this shade seems to be a hybrid of the chunkier formula of Glistening Snow and the slightly smoother formula of Sparkling Sand.

• Sparkling Rum is the shade my eye was most drawn to because it has a plummy shift to it. I think this shade looks prettier in the pan than on the eye personally. On the eye, it looks lighter and less dimensional. It was also a pain in the butt to apply, requiring a lot of layers and resulting in quite a bit of sparkly fallout. This one goes on sheer and sparkly but can be built up to a nearly metallic finish with a lot of effort. There is more larger sparkle than fine shimmer in this and the larger sparkles are fairly dark against my pale skin.
• Golden Light was really pretty. Very bright and vibrant with lots of shine.
• Sugared Chestnut is another shade that looks prettier in the pan than on the eye. I tried using this shade on it’s own but it is sheerer than I thought and really needs the help of a matte shade in the background to help the shimmer stand out more.
• Sparkling Sable is similar in it’s need for a base color to help the shimmer stand out. I did find it worked well on it’s own when used on the lower lashline, though.

Worth Buying?

You have to like the type of shimmer formula used in this palette to make this a worthwhile purchase. For me, I prefer a smoother shimmer with more slip to it than a thicker, sparkly formula. I like the majority of the matte shades and will likely reach for them frequently. The deepest matte shades were not the easiest to work with but with some patience they got the job done. Also if you prefer cool toned neutrals, this isn’t going to give you that. The pinky, purple-y mattes in here look deceptively cool toned in the pan but actually look much warmer once applied to the eye. Overall I don’t super love this palette but I do like it and I think it’s decent.

Thoughts:

In this look I used the same shimmery shades I used in the last look but with more mattes and different placement. Sugared Chestnut looks darker than it did in the last look because it is applied over Cocoa. Cocoa was harder to blend out than the lighter mattes but was not as hard to work with as Truffle, from two looks ago. I kept blending Cocoa out so much that it ended up pretty far up into the transition area, pretty much covering up Nude. The shimmers aren’t opaque and when I apply them to the lid, I like how they look better when I apply some sort of base color on the lid first to make them look more even.

Thoughts:

This look is basically a “throw away” look – one that I didn’t do the best job on and would rather delete, but I’m sharing it anyway to demonstrate how these shades look once on the eye, rather than just in a swatch. This is almost an all-shimmer look except for the shade Swan. I should have probably used some matte transition shades in the crease first but I wanted to see how the shimmers would work on their own for “one shadow looks.” It looks like my eyeshadow primer got lifted and you can see some of the discoloration on my lid peeking through. I think this might be my own fault. Before doing this look, I removed another look that didn’t turn out well. My eye makeup remover is a bit oily and I think that caused the primer to not adhere to my lid properly.

Thoughts:

So far this was the most challenging look to do. Truffle was the hardest shade to blend out but, in the end, it did blend out nicely. I just had to be more patient and careful about my placement. Sparkling Rum was also tricky to work with. I started out applying it with a brush which resulted in a sheer, topper-like quality. There is more sparkle than base color to this shade. So, I used my finger to apply it more heavily. The shadow has a sort of tackiness to it and it wants to hang on to my finger rather than transfer to my lid. This is what most of the shimmers are like but this shade in particular was that hardest to apply. I wore this look for 11 hours. Petal and Warm Rose were slightly faded by then but I didn’t have any creasing!

Thoughts:

The lighter mattes in the palette have thus far been super easy to work with – plenty of color payoff but also very easy to blend out. Maple is the first matte shade that requires a little more effort to blend out than the lighter mattes but not to a concerning degree. Golden Light had some fallout, most of which I was able to dust away. A few specks still remained, which you can see in the second photo near the right side. I used my finger to apply this shade to get it to look more intense. Doing this usually results in shimmer fallout from most shimmery eyeshadows across different brands. I wore this look for 6 hours and by that time there was slight fading in the crease.

Thoughts:

This look was easy to do and it lasted about 9 hours on me with barely any creasing. Most of the matte shades have an obvious undertone to them when you look at them in the pan but Nude seemed to be the most neutral of the bunch. After applying it, I can see that it has a slight yellow undertone to it. This shade gives me a similar type of look compared to when I use a bronzer in the crease.

I was really happy with how the makeup turned out today in general. The eyeshadows I used ended up looking more peachy-coral than I expected but I’m not complaining. I actually kind of like the brightness of it.

Thoughts:

I used all the mattes because I wanted to try them all but it was just too much mishmash of color. The shadows themselves seemed good but my application could have been better lol. The mattes had a good amount of pigmentation and mostly blended easily. The deeper shades needed a little more effort but blended out fine. The shimmers were kind of a thicker, almost waxy-feeling formula. Glistening Snow has some larger sparkles in it but didn’t seem to have much fallout. Rose Gold had some fallout but it wasn’t bad.

Too Faced Diamond Light Highlighter is a multicolor highlighter with parts that are blue, green, and purplish pink that swirl together to create a multi dimensional highlighted look to the cheek. It contains 12 grams of product, retails for $34, and can be purchased from Too Faced, Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, and Macy’s.

The packaging is made of a high quality cardboard that is held closed with a magnet. The little button you see at the bottom of the compact is just for show – it doesn’t actually do anything. It is pretty but a little thick. It doesn’t include a brush or mirror, which is fine by me.

You could concentrate on a certain color if you wanted, using a smaller fluffy brush, or simply swirl all the colors together.

This had a very silky smooth and finely milled feel to the touch. It wasn’t dry or powdery at all. The powder was pressed just right, not too loose and not too firm. It applied and blended out evenly on my cheek.

The highlight can be quite intense if you want. Just a gentle tap onto the powder with a brush is plenty for me (I prefer a subtle highlight). Swirling all the shades together ends up depositing a lot of product on my brush – more than I’d like – and yields a very intense highlight. I just pat excess off the brush onto the back of my hand.

The color shift is pretty noticeable. Mine had a lot of blue in it so I found it paired best with cooler toned blushes. It clashed a little when I went with an overall warmer look.

I wore it for about 7 hours before I started noticing slight fading.

Product Description

Too Faced Love Flush Blush Wardrobe is a limited edition palette that contains all six of the permanent range blushes from the Love Flush blush line. They are supposed to have a long wearing formula that will deliver 16 hours of wear. The packaging is a high quality cardboard design with a long, slim shape and a mirror inside the lid. Each blush is large enough to easily fit a blush brush into. I can smell just the faintest hint of a candy-like scent but it’s incredibly subtle. This palette contains 6 X 2 g / 0.07 oz of product, retails for $36, and can be purchased at Too Faced and Ulta.

Performance

I generally try not to buy limited edition items because they don’t work well for review purposes and sometimes I find the quality to be not as good. Since the colors in the palette are available in the permanent line, I made an exception with this product. I don’t have the blushes from the permanent line to compare to, unfortunately. The first thing I noticed when swatching these blushes is what a nice texture they have. They are soft, smooth, not powdery or messy in the pan and have good color payoff without having to work to build up the color. They aren’t too pigmented either which is sometimes an even worse problem with blushes. I only need one tap of a brush into the pan to pick up enough product to sweep across the cheek. It blends in easily and of course can be applied easily with a lighter or heavier hand. The product sits nicely on the skin and looks like it melts right in so you don’t get a powdery cheek effect. The finishes vary from matte to satin to one with micro glitter. The satin shades aren’t too reflective so it looks like more of a natural, not shimmery, finish. The micro glitter in Justify my love is sparse and ultra fine, brushing away easily so it doesn’t show much on the cheek. I didn’t test the 16 hour claim because the longest I usually wear makeup is about 8-10 hours but they wore all day on me without fading.

Worth Buying?

I really like this product and feel like it’s a great value. On me, I found all the shades wearable so nothing will go to waste in this palette. If you like natural-looking wearable shades and prefer long wearing blush formulas, this is worth picking up. It’s also a great product to travel with since you can carry a variety of shades in a nice compact palette.

I wanted to start keeping track of my favorite things each month because I usually have a hard time deciding what to include in my yearly favorites. By the time December rolls around I don’t even remember what I was using the first half of the year! Let’s take a look at a few of my top beauty product picks for January.

In December, I got Toni & Guy Leave In Conditioner in my Glossybox and it sat on my counter for a couple weeks. I was skeptical since many hair products, especially moisturizing ones, tend to weigh my hair down. Eventually I got around to trying it, only to discover it was actually very lightweight and fantastic for detangling. One interesting thing I found was that I could even skip conditioning in the shower and use this instead and I get similar results. I love this because rinsing out conditioner seems to take forever and it doesn’t always rinse out evenly.

Nuxe Masque Crème Fraiche was another unexpected gem. I have only tried one other hydrating mask: Sisley Black Rose Crème Mask. It was lovely but insanely expensive. I’ve used this several times now both as a mask and even as a moisturizer and I am addicted. It has a very authentic-smelling citrus blossom fragrance which I personally love. The consistency is even nicer than the Sisley one – it melts effortlessly over the skin and leaves absolutely no sticky residue behind. It soaks in gradually but completely leaving my skin feeling perfectly moisturized and relaxed.

I have been using Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum for a few months. It’s supposed to smooth fine lines and texture, fade the look of wrinkles and brighten skin tone. I’ve tried a couple of retinol products in the past but they always seemed to irritate my skin. This one has been really gentle, thankfully. Over time, I have realized that when I use it consistently twice a day I actually do notice a slight smoothing of my skin’s texture and the tone looks more even. It’s nothing dramatic but it’s enough to make a difference.

Mary-Lou Manizer has become iconic as one of the best highlighters out there. I checked it out online a few times but I noticed that it was definitely a gold-hued highlighter and I had never found a golden highlighter that worked for me. I knew that theBalm also had a pink-toned highlighter called Cindy-Lou Manizer which I was much more interested in. So, when the holiday 50% off sale came around, I jumped on the opportunity and bought both. I thought they’d be pretty similar except for the color but it turns out that Cindy-Lou Manizer is much less intense and more subtle. Both of them are wonderful but during the winter months I gravitate toward more intense highlighters so Mary-Lou Manizer has been getting lots of love lately.

My last great find has been Too Faced La Crème Lipstick in Spice Spice Baby. This natural brownish pink shade is semi-sheer and the formula is rich, moisturizing and comfortable to wear – all my favorite qualities in a lipstick.

This was the first Too Faced palette that I bought and I instantly fell in love with all of the highlight colors (the larger shades). Most of the smaller shades are great too except for Satin Sheets which is just too frosty for my personal taste and Unmentionables which can have a bit of glitter fallout.

I picked this up when the first Urban Decay Naked Palette was all the rage. I compared them and I found this one to be much more suitable for those with cooler skin tones. Of course, I later caved and bought the UD Naked Palette too LOL.

In The Buff is a matte pale ivory color. It is one of the most pigmented matte highlight colors I own and one of my favorite eyeshadows. It applies very smoothly and blends out evenly.

Pillow Talk a sheer light taupe with a subtle sparkly shimmer. Its beautiful swatched but it is kind of hard to see on the eye.

Like A Virgin is a darker matte taupe. It’s very pigmented but not as easy to blend as In The Buff.

Birthday Suit is a sheer nude beige with a beautiful delicate sheen to it.

Satin Sheets is a light pink with a pale gold frost. It looks pink in the pan but its mostly just a pale gold frost once applied to the eye. On my complexion, it isn’t very flattering.

Unmentionables is a dark warm grey with a bit of micro glitter in it. This shade can be prone to some fallout.

Pink Cheeks is a sheer pale pink with micro shimmer – another one of my very favorites that I don’t have a comparison to in my collection.

Lap Dance is a taupe with a bronzy purple shimmer to it.

Stiletto is a matte black. I like to apply this as an eyeliner with a small angled brush.

My palette is the older version. It is bulkier and thicker than the new version as it contains an applicator which is not very helpful. It doesn’t make sense to have one sponge applicator and one low-quality brush for 9 eyeshadows The angled brush is not too bad but it is a little too small.

For a while this was my go-to palette for everyday natural looking but more polished eyes. I wish they would come out with individual shades for sale – especially In The Buff, Birthday Suit, Pink Cheeks, Pillow Talk, and Like a Virgin. This palette led me to buy two more of their palettes but this one remains my favorite.

The 3 large eyeshadows each contain 2 g / 0.07 oz. The 6 small eyeshadows each contain 0.9 g / 0.03 oz. This palatte retails for about $36.
