Product Description
What it is: Milani Everyday Eyes Must Have Naturals is a mostly cool-toned palette with a well balanced selection of shades. The shades are supposed to be “richly pigmented” and well coordinated.

Packaging: The plastic case feels sturdy and well made. It opens easily but stays closed securely. The included brush feels very soft against the skin and the shapes of each end compliment each other.
Smell/Fragrance: It is not fragranced and it doesn’t smell like anything to me.
Performance
There are six palettes in the Everyday Eyes Collection and this one draws my eye the most. It’s compact and the selection of shades are well thought out. I can use this by itself to without having to bring in extra colors to complete the look.
There is a guide on the back of the palette that describes where to use each shade. I don’t recommend following it. It suggests using the Base shade before applying the other shades. I tried it and it resulted in underwhelming color payoff from the shimmers and patchiness from the matte shades. I just use the Base shade as another option for a pop of shimmer on the lid.
Shades:
- Base is a sheer, pale golden shimmer. It had minimal fallout and not much kick up in the pan. I found this most useful as a highlight or accent shade.
- Contour is warm light brown with peachy undertones and a matte finish. No fallout and minimal kick up in the pan. It has good pigmentation, applies evenly and smoothly and builds up well. I found this to be most useful as a transition shade.
- Lid is a shimmery warm taupe with rosy undertones. It had some pickup in the pan and significant fallout applied with a dry brush. I found this applied best with a damp brush (dampened with setting spray) which gave it a shinier finish and reduced fallout.
- Crease is a dark matte taupe. It had some kick up in the pan and fallout during application. This shade had good color payoff but was the patchiest in the palette and required a lot of time to blend out smoothly. I got the best results applying this with a flat shader brush to the outer lid and slowly working the color up into the crease. This gave me a much smoother blend and less fallout than simply going in with a crease brush.
- Specialty is a pale peachy pink shimmer. It is sheer but can be built up to almost full opacity. Just like the the Lid shade, this had some kick up and fallout and applied best with a damp brush.
- Liner – Matte black. It was very nicely pigmented but a bit patchy. It can be used as a shadow but I found it worked best as a liner.
I tried this both with and without primer. Over Nars Pro Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base, these applied way more evenly and smoothly and lasted 8-9 hours without creasing or fading. Without primer, they wore for about 6 hours before starting to crease and fade.
Worth Buying?
Maybe. I think this would make a nice travel palette since it doesn’t require pulling in more shades to create a well rounded look and the included brush is actually pretty good. The biggest downsides are the patchiness in the Crease shade and the shimmer fallout from the Lid shade. Those downsides would deter me from purchasing this for everyday use.
