I have been using The Body Shop’s Vitamin C Microdermabrasion for nearly a year now and I have to say I’m very pleased with the product.

Even though it has “microdermabrasion” in the name, it’s actually just a great exfoliator. The exfoliating particles are very fine and are packed very densely into a citrus scented cream. The scent is a zesty orange smell which makes this product really nice for using in my morning shower. As a rule of thumb, the more time you spend massaging the product onto your skin, the deeper exfoliation you will get. Also, a little goes a long way. I love these qualities about the product because I don’t feel like I need to use MORE of it to get a good exfoliation, I just need to spend more time using it. I can get about 3 months use out of one tube.

In the photo above, you can see it has some tiny dark particles throughout. There are also some larger white particles that are not as easy to see. The picture does not do this product justice as it has a higher concentration of exfoliant in the cream base than any other scrub I have ever used.

When I first started using it, I used it 1-2 times a week and massaged it over my face for about 2-3 minutes. It would leave my face feeling super smooth and clean. With regular use it gave my skin a nice glow and created a nice surface for applying makeup as it removes all the dead skin off my face. Over time I noticed that my skin became accustomed to it and I started using it more like 3-4 times per week which is my current routine. I have mildly acne prone skin and if I use this regularly it does help keep the breakouts away. If you have very bad acne this may not be the right product for you though because using a scrub on active breakouts can just irritate them further.
