Revlon Photoready BB Cream in Light Review and Swatches

Revlon Photoready BB Cream
Purchased by Tamara

Product Description

Price/Quantity: $10.99 for 30 mL
Availability: Drugstores, Ulta, Target, Fred Meyer, Amazon
Color Range: 3 Shades
Color/Finish: 010 Light is the lightest shade in the range and has yellow undertones.
Packaging: Flat squeeze tube with a twist off lid. The opening in the tip is fine so you can squeeze out just a little bit if you want.
Smell: It has a mild to moderate sunscreen smell to it, though not a fragrance.

Performance

Application: I’ve applied it with my fingers and with a Real Techniques stippling brush and it blended nicely into my skin either way. The texture smooths out well but it does leave a dewy/shiny finish to the skin. It did a good job of not emphasizing dry areas.
Pigmentation: It has sheer coverage but it does a decent job of evening out my skin tone.
Texture: It feels very smooth like a gel-cream type of consistency but it also feels greasy and doesn’t seem to “dry down” or set. Throughout the day it only gets oilier, regardless of if I set it with powder or not.
Longevity: 2 hours on me – that’s about the point that I can’t stand the oiliness anymore. It looked really nice right after I applied it. After about 10 minutes the areas I set with powder started to look slightly cakey and the areas I didn’t set it with powder started getting shiny. The powder didn’t really help control oil, just the shine.

Overall Opinion

Pros:

  • Blends nicely
  • Does not emphasize dry areas
  • SPF 30

Cons:

  • Feels greasy upon application
  • Shiny
  • Poor longevity

Worth buying? In most cases, no. If you have normal, oily, or combination skin this probably isn’t going to work for you. If you have dry skin that can handle heavily emollient moisturizers then you might be able to make this work.

  1. I actually really disliked this and ended up returning it…I have dry/combination skin and it made it really oily too! Also wasn’t satisfied with the coverage. My Skin79 BB cream has way more and doesn’t make me oilier at all. Great review x
