In this look I used all but two of the shades in the ColourPop She’s Got Solstice Palette. I really like the shade Marz (a light green) but I was hesitant to pair it with the pinky corals in this palette for some reason. I went ahead and just did it anyway and I’m happy with how these colors work together.

Thoughts on ColourPop She’s Got Solstice Palette

I think the most obvious thing about this palette is that there are a lot of similar shades in here. Quasar, Earth Angel, and Nova are all so close. Once on the eye, I can see the the undertones a little better than I can see them in the pans. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, it forces me to use shades together that I normally would not. This sometimes results in interesting looks. On the other hand, there are only 9 shades and I’d prefer for them to be 9 distinct shades.

Another thing to talk about is the shade Super Stardust. This is a tricky one to work it. It does not pick up well at all on a brush. It would likely work okay on a sponge tip applicator but I have not tried that yet. I used my finger to apply it to my inner corner and luckily it didn’t come out too messy. I can’t deny that shades like this do offer something “extra” to a look but I also can’t help but dislike using them.
