Availability: Here’s an official list of stores that carry this brand. Oddly, I couldn’t seem to find this product on J.R. Watkins website. I found mine at Fred Meyer and I’ve seen this brand at Target. Amazon also carries this product.

Packaging: Tall, slender plastic squeeze tube. The lid flips open and closes easily and stays closed securely.

Smell/Fragrance: It has a sweet dessert-like lemon scent to it. It’s not a super heavy scent but its strong enough that someone sitting next to you would likely notice the smell if you used this cream. It fades after about 30 minutes.

Performance

This hand cream was thick and harder to squeeze out of the tube than I expected. I had to squeeze out about an inch to thoroughly cover my hands. As long as I use enough it spreads fairly easily. It doesn’t feel greasy but it does have a slightly waxy feel to it. It’s noticeable but not uncomfortable. It isn’t sticky at all. I LOVE the scent. I’m not usually one to love lemon scented things but this one has the perfect sweet / crisp balance. It isn’t too sickly sugary smelling and it’s not too sharply citrusy either. When I was a kid my parents would occasionally buy lemon pound cakes from our local grocery store and the fragrance of this hand cream captures that smell perfectly. It’s very comforting and uplifting at the same time. If I compare this to the hand cream that I’m most familiar with (Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy), the J.R. Watkins hand cream is much thicker and doesn’t have as much of a “soothing” feel when it touches the skin. It isn’t irritating at all though, it has more natural ingredients and is scented more lightly.

Worth Buying?

I’m really happy with this cream. I’ve been looking for a nice hand cream lately and I think this might stick around for a while. It smells incredible, you get a good amount for the price and I really appreciate the use of mostly natural ingredients. I have used more moisturizing creams, though, so if you suffer from extra dry, chapped hands, I’m not sure this is going to be enough to heal them. It is good for treating and preventing minor dryness.
